Hire Temporary Sales Staff to run your Promotions

Hire Temporary Sales Staff to run your Promotions

Why run a promotion? The answer is simple. It generates instant sales. That means empty shelves, which mean more demand for your products as you replenish them.

The value of a sales promotion team can be easily overlooked. They do more than just bringing a product in front of potential customers. In reality, they can often be the reason why people buy it.

Promotional staff are the public face of a product. They are there to talk to people, encourage them to try it because once a product has been tried, the more likely they are to hunt it out on the shelves and take it home.

When times are hard, and people have to watch their money, they are wary of buying something new because they don’t want to waste their cash. Being asked to taste something in store, or try out a new technique creates a greater feeling of confidence. Having experienced the product and liked it, consumers become more willing to recommend it to others within the family.

It’s not just product demonstrations or tasting sessions that generate this feel good effect. A similar feeling is encouraged when free samples are provided to take home. Trying a product free of charge takes away the pressure of instant decisions as well as the risk of finding it is not liked at home. Trying and liking eliminates the risk factor.

An added advantage is the fact that the promotional team can directly engage potential customers, talking about the product and its advantages. Think about ‘add on’ possibilities too – how about some recipe cards giving ideas on using the product within a wider meal? It makes it even more versatile, and can increase linked sales.

Also worth considering are the potential opportunities for upselling and cross selling. Running an instore promotion for say, a tablet will immediately attract attention because it is a desirable product. As soon as the consumer has decided to buy, the sales promotional team can point out that cases for the tablet are on sale nearby, as are spare charging wires. Or what about a cover to protect the face of the tablet? Within a short time, the customer has increased their purchases from one tablet to an extra two or three items, none of which were on their shopping lists when they entered the store.

News of a promotion can increase store traffic. Mentioning it in advertisements, on social media or in pre-publicity attracts attention. People may be thinking of buying a tablet, and news of a promotion of this kind can make a difference.

      Grow your business at Exhibitions

      Grow your business at Exhibitions

Exhibiting at a trade show can be the most valuable business action you can take this year. You don’t have to be a large, massive business to benefit – SME’s can gain just as much visibility and sales as any other business. Exhibitions provide a level playing field – everyone has the same chance to attract potential customers.

Here’s our top reasons why you should be exhibiting at a trade show this year

      Meet customers
Face to face meetings with customers is the best way to impress and gain their trust. You have the opportunity to make an impression, and become someone whom they will remember rather than just a voice heard on the telephone.

      Brand Åwareness
With thousands of people attending a trade show, you have a massive opportunity to create awareness and brand visibility. People will see your company’s name and products. Have a well designed stand and good exhibition staff to make sure people stop and explore your business further. It’s a great way to position your company as a business leader.

      Generate leads
Participating in an exhibition is the ideal way to generate long term business. Sales leads can be instantly obtained, contact details acquired for following up in due course. You can try out different sales and promotional techniques, carry out market research and capture as much data as possible.

      Develop a business network
Exhibitions are not just about selling and meeting customers. It is also a way of meeting potential suppliers, finding new services and discover new contacts. Bear in mind that company directors and senior managers are frequent visitors to trade shows because they know the value of doing so – giving you the opportunity to meet business leaders in your field.

      Check out your competitors
Discover what is happening in your industry. Take a look at your competitors stands. Talk to industry leaders and find out the trends that are going to make a difference in the immediate future. Exhibitions are the perfect information gathering tool which can determine your long term business strategy.

The key to success is doing it right from the beginning. A well designed stand is just one element – equally important is making sure that you have adequate staff on site to ensure it is never left untended and a potential sale or client missed. Prepare in advance by booking local specialist exhibition staff who are accustomed to maximising every available opportunity presented at an exhibition. Well chosen staff accustomed to specific tasks such as data capture, demonstrating, promotional work can have an immense impact on your exhibition success story.

              Restaurant and Event Hostesses

              Restaurant and Event Hostesses

Scottish HostessesEver thought about being a restaurant or event hospitality hostess? You don’t need any experience. It is a fantastic way to discover how a restaurant/event operates, as the hostess plays a crucial role ensuring its success.

It involves more than just showing customers to an empty table. You could be helping clear tables, take customers their drinks order, providing refills or dealing with queries. The hostess is the face of the restaurant.

Follow the restaurant rules; they will help you cope with the demands of your first hostess job.

              Keep to the rotation

This refers to where guests are seated within the restaurant. The floor plan will show the different tables, and how they are split up between the different waiters.

You have to make sure that each waiter has a fair share of the work, and tips. So, the first guest is placed at a table in the first section, the next guest in the second section, with the third customer in the third section. Then you go back to the first section, and rotate through the different sections. Only if the customer asks for a specific seat, such as a window seat or a quiet spot, should you divert from the rotation. If that happens, seat the customer according to their preferences, then go back to the rotation avoiding whichever section you have used.

              Help the waiters

Be prepared to help out. Clear tables and take drinks to customers when it is really busy. But always check first with the waiter in that section. You don’t want to upset them.

              Be prepared

Wear comfortable shoes. You are going to be on your feet for a long time. Your feet will get tired! It is also important to make sure your shoes are slip resistant. There will be liquids and food spilled on the floor at some point and you don’t want an accident.

                What is the Edinburgh Fringe?

                What is the Edinburgh Fringe?

edinburgh fringeThe biggest arts event on the planet is back – the Edinburgh Fringe Festival is renowned worldwide. The Edinburgh streets are filled with thousands of people watching buskers, enjoying the atmosphere and visiting shows held all over the city. And that’s only the visitors! Add in several thousand more performers covering almost any type of creative activity from dance to comedy, interactive art to film and the sheer scale of the event becomes apparent.

Lasting 25 days, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival has been known to host over 53,000 performances of around 3,500 shows in 300 different venues.

Attending and/or participating in the Edinburgh Fringe is much sought after by artistes and performers. It is often an opportunity to spot the stars, discover new talent and enjoy live performances by top names.

It is a far cry from very first Fringe Festival back in 1947. The UK was recovering from the pressures of wartime, and seeking ways of stimulating the economy. The launch of the International Edinburgh Festival was immediately popular, drawing people in from far and wide. Recognising an opportunity, eight local theatre companies decided to try and attract some audiences by providing performances in small venues. The Edinburgh Fringe was born.

The number of events grew rapidly, with its informality appealing to entrepreneurial performers seeking new outlets for their work. No invitations are ever needed to take part. All they have to do is find a venue (which can be anything from a theatre to a garden or pub), create a show, promote it and then give a performance.

Over the years, the Fringe has adapted and changed to match the changing needs of audiences. Shows can be very controversial – attending a Fringe show can be a total surprise as no one (apart from the performers) know just what might be said or done on stage. As a result, it can sometimes seem offensive depending on a person’s viewpoint. Creative freedom is all-important.

Nowadays, potential performers can seek help and advice from the Fringe Co-ordinators – help that is especially welcome when trying to identify venues, promote a show, and find staff to organise seating and any security required.

Hire staff to work at Edinburgh Fringe

Bringing in specialist help from Promotional Staff Scotland is a popular option since they can provide temporary event staff, covid marshals, stewards and even promotional staff to help attract public attention. Getting in touch as early as possible during the planning stage is essential – good staff get booked up quickly at the Edinburgh Fringe!

                Social Media Influencers

                Introduction to Social Influencers

Social Media InfluencersIt is almost impossible to have not heard of influencers in the present day. Even if you are not sure what they are, you will have an idea. You will find an ever-increasing number of articles related to Influencer Marketing. Including ours giving you a beginner’s guide to influencer marketing.

So, whether you know nothing, or little about influencer marketing we will aim to give you a basic understanding about our service and how it will work.

                What Are Social Media Influencers?

Since 2005, social media has grown rapidly both in terms of users & time spent. With now all generations participating in platforms from Facebook, Twitter and Tik Tok.
Staggeringly, a 2019 report found that 3.5 billion people are on social media in some form. (45% of the world’s population).
Even before the time of technology, humans have influenced each other through purchasing habits and lifestyle choices. So, it came as no surprise that as our interactions became increasingly more online that we started to take advise from people that way too.

Although it has happened for many years in effect, it has only been taken seriously as a mainstream marketing tool since around 2016. With major celebrities having an audience of 50 million people and a large impact on their purchasing trends, many companies will pay the likes of Kim Kardashian & Michael Jordan over a million dollars for a single post!

The new trend is to hire “Micro Influencers”. In short, this is people with less followers (under 50,000 people) that have a niche audience and have built a reputation for their knowledge and expertise on a specific topic. They make regular posts about that topic on their preferred social media channels and generate large followings of enthusiastic, engaged people who pay close attention to their views. For example, if a travel company promoted their airline through an influencer engaged in that topic, they could expect a much better return on investment that just going for a celebrity with a broad following.

Contact a member of our friendly team to book the very best Social Media Influencers!

When it comes to sourcing your influencers our agency will be able to offer a bespoke quotation.
