The Edinburgh Festival Fringe is the largest arts festival in the world and takes place every August for three weeks in Scotland.

Every year thousands of performers take to a number of stages all over Edinburgh to present shows for all taste. Lots of well known comedians have had their big break at the Fringe.  There are big names in the world of entertainment and unknown artists looking to build their careers.  

The festival caters for everyone and includes theatre, comedy, dance, physical theatre, musicals, operas, music, exhibitions and events.

 

How to get the The Fringe

We know that the Fringe will leave you wanting more, but it is worth pointing out that the journey to Edinburgh will take your breath away too. Whether by rail or road, via the Highlands or the Borders, the landscape is spectacularly breathtaking.

Edinburgh is connected to the East Coast of the UK via the A1(M); a short trip to Glasgow on the M8 connects you to most cities in the West via the M6 and the Lake District. Coach services run directly to Edinburgh from throughout Scotland and the rest of the UK.

By air

Edinburgh International Airport is served by most domestic carriers and several international operators. The airport is easy to reach from the city, located just eight miles (12 km) west of Edinburgh city centre.
